How to Hide Your Username From The Logon Screen in Windows 10

How do I hide my username from the login screen for a windows 10 machine?

To do this you will need to first make sure you have an administrator present or you are an administrator yourself. To start this off you will need to first go to your start menu and enter ‘run’ then click onto the first result. Alternatively you can hit the ‘windows’ key and ‘R’ key at the same time then enter ‘gpedit.msc’.

Once you click ‘ok’ this will then bring up the group policy editing window. Once on this you will need to navigate to the following:

Computer Configuration > Windows Settings >Security Settings > Local Policies > security options.

Now you need to scroll down the list of policy’s until you find ‘Interactive Logon: Don’t display username at sign-in’. Right click this policy and click options, and then you will see ‘Enabled’ or ‘Disabled’. As this is a double negative you will want to click the ‘Enabled’ option.

This will now stop showing your username when you go to sign in.
